Dems Pivot Again. Now Try To Blame Trump For Riots.

Sometimes it feels like we’re living in an Alice in Wonderland America. Up is down, in is out and violence is peace.

In fact, the latest nutty talking points from Democrats could easily have been written by Lewis Carroll.

Apparently the party bosses got together this weekend and decided that they could no longer deny that these are riots roiling American inner cities, so they moved to blame President Trump

Yep. The president who denounced the violence from the start, who offered to send the national guard to quell the disturbances, who has consistently called for law and order, is being blamed by Democrats for violence and anarchy sweeping the nation.

Quite a change from the Democrat’s mantra all summer that these weren’t riots, they were “peaceful protests.” A wonderful thing!

They denied violence was taking place even while cities burned. Anyone else remember the bizarre pronouncement from Rep. Jerry Nadler who, when asked about violence on the part of Antifa, said that it was fiction?

Then there was Kamala Harris who encouraged people to contribute to a fund to bail out jailed rioters back in June and on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” on August 15, grinning as she praised the protests and promising that they wouldn’t end even after the election.

“And they should not!” she merrily declared.

Looks like Democrats’ internal polls - the ones the political parties never release to the public - must be alarming. How’s this for an about-face by the vice presidential hopeful?

Notice Harris trying to shift blame to the president. She got that talking point from Chuck Schumer.

Enough? Americans have had enough of Schumer and company remaining silent when the cities began to spin out of control and now trying to blame the disorder on those calling for law and order.

Orwellian or Carrollian? You decide.

I was off social media for much of the weekend but when I tiptoed back into that cesspool late Sunday, a chorus of Democrats were wailing that the riots broke out on “Trump’s watch.”

Nice try. But Americans know who to blame for the mobs in the streets. And they know what they saw last week when Trump supporters tried to leave the White House grounds and were physically assaulted by punks. Sen. Rand Paul said he believed that had DC’s Metro police not come to his rescue, he and his wife may have been killed.

I don’t doubt him. It was frightening.

Americans also saw what happened when ordinary decent Americans dined at outdoor cafes in Washington and were swarmed by left-wing hoodlums after they refused to follow orders and raise their fists in the air.

The angry mobs roaming urban centers from Portland to LA to Louisville to St. Louis to Kenosha to Washington DC have been emboldened by squishy Democratic governors and mayors who looked on indifferently as the rioters wantonly toppled statutes, destroyed business and committed arson under the banner of racial inequality.

The Democrats enjoyed the spectacle all summer. It’s too late to blame anyone but themselves.
