Are Astronomical Gas Prices Part Of The Plan?

There’s been a dramatic shift in American politics. No doubt you’ve noticed.

Once the party of working class, the Democrats have morphed into a party of out-of-touch elitists. Meanwhile, Republicans, once seen as a club of snobbish suburbanites, have adopted a populist message.

It’s an astonishing change.

While rich liberals continue to send their kids to private schools, they oppose vouchers, charter schools and any sort of school choice to allow underprivileged parents to get THEIR kids out of the public schools.  Likewise, many Republicans also choose private education for their offspring, but they’re pushing vouchers and charter schools to give needy families the same option they enjoy.

Sadly, Democrats can’t side with parents while they’re in bed with militant teachers’ unions.

With the far left firmly in control of the president’s Teleprompter, Green New Deal zealots convinced Joe Biden to kill the Keystone Pipeline and declare war on fossil fuels, setting in motion today’s soaring gas prices.

As hard as the White House tries to blame the crisis on Putin, Americans know better. Pain at the tank began on Biden’s Inauguration Day.

In fact, many of us suspect that far-left Democrats are secretly celebrating astronomical gas prices. It brings America closer to their dream of urban utopias where the hoi polloi are forced to sell their cars and ride the bus.

Never mind that studies have shown that the key to a job is a car and that people struggling to make a living often commute the longest distances to work.

The price of gas is crushing the working class, yet the president shrugs, explaining that we’re in a “period of transition.”

In other words, this is part of the plan.

When the peasants howl, they’re told to stop griping and buy an electric car.

In early March, with gas prices on a steady climb, Pete Buttegieg, the former mayor of South Bend, IN who leapt from that minor job to become Secretary of Transportation, lectured Americans on the need to switch to electric vehicles.

Transportation
Secretary Pete Buttigieg on Monday said the American people stand to benefit from having more electric vehicles on the road but failed to elaborate on how they could become more affordable at a time when gas prices nationwide were hitting record levels.

Buttigieg spoke during a press conference unveiling the Biden administration's expensive plan to develop electric public buses. While touting the benefits of clean transportation, Buttigieg remarked that Americans from "rural to suburban to urban communities can all benefit from the gas savings of driving an EV."

“Although the cost of electric vehicles has come down in recent years, they still remain out of reach for millions of Americans, with an average price hovering around $50,000,” reported Fox Business.

“EV's also rely on raw materials like cobalt and lithium for their batteries. A surge in demand for EV's would necessitate greater reliance on countries like Congo, Russia, and China which mine these materials. “

Yeah, Pete, American farmers can’t wait to drive electric tractors.

And the elitist lunacy continues. Here’s Democratic Sen. Debbie Stabenow of Michigan yesterday, bragging about how she drove from Michigan to  Washington while laughing at the serfs paying 5 bucks a gallon for gas along the way. Gas prices don’t bother her, she gloated.

Sneering at the little people is not a good look, Senator. But it’s what we’ve come to expect from the out-of-touch left.
