Biden Mumbles His Way Through Painful Presser
If China dropped a bomb on Orlando, population 316,081, we’d be at war.
In 2022, 245,000 Americans died of covid and 73,654 died of fentanyl overdoses. All of those deaths can be traced to the Chinese. The total number of American dead that year is 318,654. An entire city, indirectly killed by Chinese policies and covert actions.
On top of unleashing deadly viruses and drugs, the Chinese steal our intellectual property and send spy balloons across our country. They buy oil from Iran and they are gobbling up American farmland.
Their record on human rights is appalling: The Chinese welded their own citizens inside their homes during the pandemic and they continue to enslave and imprison thousands of Uyghurs.
Yet President Biden spent Wednesday canoodling with Chinese President Xi and later held a press conference where he bragged about how the two leaders were getting along swimmingly.
Bragged is too strong a word. Actually, Biden mumbled his way through what has to be his worst “press conference” ever. I put those two words in quotation marks because traditionally, a press conference is a free-wheeling event where alert presidents field questions from a number of journalists. For a lesson in how a press conference ought to be conducted, try to find footage of a JFK or Ronald Reagan presser.
Taking four questions from pre-approved reporters and reading answers out of a binder hardly qualifies as meeting with the press. Worse, Mumbles couldn’t remember the names of the people he was “told” to call on, including the White House correspondent for CBS. Despite reading his prepared answers, Biden stumbled over words and was barely coherent.
When he went off script he was worse.
“I know two children who woke up dead…” he muttered at one point when he was talking about drugs.
Oh, and as the president left the lectern he called Xi a “dictator.”
That may be the only truth he spoke during his half hour before the cameras, but Biden’s beleaguered aides are going to have to spend today walking that back. Biden blurted out the same thing last year and the Chinese took great offense. Many believe it was the dictator remark that was responsible for chilling the relationship between our two countries ever since.
Nice work, Grandpa. Very diplomatic. This is what happens when an old man stays up past his bedtime.
The Chinese are clearly itching for another four years with this confused weakling in the White House.
Polling shows most Americans are not.
