Elise Stefanik And The Three Stooges Of Higher Education
Great news over the weekend!
One of the three morally bankrupt college presidents who told Congresswoman Elise Stefanik that genocide against Jews would only violate their codes of conduct if it translated into action, resigned in disgrace. May Liz Magill never find another job in education or anywhere near malleable minds.
Stefanik, who at 39 is emerging as the smartest member of Congress, is dead right. The other two presidents need to go as well and that’s just the start of the ruthless housekeeping that needs to occur in higher education.
It’s time to eliminate all of the DEI (diversity, equity and inclusion) hires of the past two decades and replace these box-checking time wasters with actual educators. You know, learned people dedicated to helping students develop critical thinking skills and who want to teach them about Western Civilization and how without it, we’d still be serfs, living without the concept of God-given individual rights, electricity and antibiotics.
It’s clear to anyone paying attention that too many of today’s colleges and universities are churning out dullards. These are college grads who hate their country, who foolishly believe that capitalism is the root of all evil and who believe that Marxism will do anything other than ruin our great country, as it has wrecked every nation that has ventured down that misguided road.
It’s not just the elite Northeastern and California schools that are full of fools, either. The University of Virginia has been infected with the DEI virus for more than a decade. It’s worth noting that Penn’s disgraced president, Liz Magill, was part of UVa for about 18 years.
Don’t take my word for it. There’s this, from her official biography, which as of Sunday had not been updated to show her resignation from the University of Pennsylvania:
M. Elizabeth “Liz” Magill became president of the University of Pennsylvania on July 1, 2022. As executive vice president and provost of the University of Virginia from 2019-22, Magill oversaw the University’s teaching and research activities. She directed the academic administration of the 11 schools, the library, art museums, public service activities, numerous University centers and foreign study programs.
Before becoming provost, Magill served seven years as the Richard E. Lang Professor of Law and dean of Stanford Law School. Before joining Stanford, she was on the faculty at the University of Virginia School of Law for 15 years, serving as vice dean, the Joseph Weintraub–Bank of America Distinguished Professor of Law, and Elizabeth D. and Richard A. Merrill Professor.
Meanwhile, as he does what his woke, DEI-devoted administration tells him to do, President Biden is busy defying the Supreme Court and “forgiving” student debt. That means those of us who attended college when free thinking was not only allowed but encouraged and who repaid our own student loans plus those who didn’t attend college at all, will pick up the tabs for these deadbeat grads.
It’s long past time to demand a return to sanity on college campuses. And in Washington.
New York’s Elise Stefanik - a Harvard grad - is leading the way.
In case you missed her skewering of the Three Stooges of Elite Education this week, here it is:
