It’s late on Christmas Eve. The gifts are under the tree - as usual, the ones I wrapped look like they were attacked by a badger, while my daughter’s packages are all sharp edges and bountiful bows.
Upstairs, a 5-year-old sleeps. The same one who woke up Thursday morning and tiptoed into my room to ask earnestly, “Kerry, is it Christmas?”
Later she told me she’d looked under the tree and there were no gifts. She was afraid the Naughty List was “for real”.
On Christmas morning she’s coming to the studio with me as our special guest on The Kerry and Mike Show. This could be amusing. Or horrifying. Thank goodness for the 7-second delay.
Wishing all of you a blessed and healthy Christmas.
