Please, Anthony Fauci, Retire.

Please, Anthony Fauci, Retire.

By now it should be clear to everybody in the country that Anthony Fauci is bad at his job.

He is 81 years old, the highest paid federal employee and when he retires, Forbes estimates his payout will be the largest in American history: $350,000 a year.

Worth it, if he’d leave.

Fauci says one thing one day. Another the next. And never admits he was wrong.

Worse, the White House medical advisor never apologizes for his lies or his misinformation. As recently as yesterday on CNBC, Fauci  blamed the American people for “misinterpreting” what he said about the efficacy of the Covid-19 vaccines:

He can’t be serious.

We heard him clearly. Earlier this year he told us unequivocally that these vaccines were marvels. They would STOP the virus, he said. The shots would keep the vaccinated from getting infected. In the clip above a giddy Dr. Fauci even boasts that the shots are terrific against variants, which is ridiculous, because variants emerge over time. He had no idea what variants would appear and whether the vaccines would be effective against them.

Guess what? The shots aren’t very effective against omicron. Yesterday set a record for Covid cases in the U.S., despite the vaccines. Are the vaccinated experiencing milder illnesses than the unvaccinated? In some cases, yes. Not all.

Look, we get it. Science evolves over time. But just once we’d like someone in the world of public health to admit when they get it wrong.

For instance, I want someone - a governor, perhaps - or Fauci himself, to apologize to American schoolchildren for stealing more than a year of their lives.

All for nothing.

I’d like someone to admit that cloth masks don’t work and that we’re muzzling school children every day in some silly pandemic pantomime that’s supposed to protect the elderly and the obese, but doesn’t.

No, the answer isn’t to put kids in better masks. Get the soggy rags off their faces and let them go to school every damn day like normal children.

If they get sick, they should stay home. Period.

Fauci’s latest mission is to mandate vaccine passports for domestic air travel. Not because it will make flying any safer - both the vaxxed and unvaxxed transmit the highly contagious virus - but because it’s a way to force more people to get vaccinated.

In fact, all vaccine mandates should end now that we know the shots do little if anything to slow the spread of the virus.

Yet Joe Biden, devoid of critical thinking skills, says he’ll issue a vaccine mandate for domestic flights if his unelected medical advisors recommend it.

This insanity has to stop.

If the vaccines worked the way we were told they would there wouldn’t be a new surge underway and the government wouldn’t have to threaten people to take the shots.

It’s time to admit that Covid is endemic. We’re all going to get it. The vaccines seem to lessen the severity of Covid, although the latest variant is much milder than the earlier versions anyway.

Get vaccinated or don’t. Stay home if you’re sick.  Go to the hospital if you’re seriously ill.

Public health officials and governors, like Ralph Northam who yesterday declared that the vaccines were working “as designed,” should stop gaslighting us.

And please, Anthony Fauci, retire.
