Biden’s Burgeoning Border Crisis
Joe Biden has blood on his hands. The blood of 13 illegal immigrants who were sneaking into the U.S. this week at the invitation of the president. Desperately poor people who likely put their lives in the hands of human traffickers. They died in a gruesome crash about 100 miles east of San Diego.
With his merry no-deportation- for-100-days declaration, Biden essentially invited illegals to try to hop the border, under the assumption that his administration will be friendly to illegals and allow them to stay in the country.
They’re correct, of course. No more waiting on the Mexican side.
According to the Associated Press, surveillance cameras on Tuesday morning showed two SUVs crossing a chunk of border in southern California where the old fence had been removed and Trump’s new border wall had not yet been constructed. A Chevy Suburban, packed with 19 passengers, crossed into the US and then burst into flames. No one was hurt.
The 25 people sardined into a 1997 Ford Expedition (built to safely carry 8 passengers) were not so fortunate. When their SUV collided with a tractor trailer, 13 were killed and others were injured. The driver/coyote, was a Mexican citizen as were 10 of the 13 dead, according to authorities.
Despite breathless denials by the Biden administration, it’s clear that a crisis is building on our southern border. Again. The Department of Homeland Security predicts that 117,000 unaccompanied minors will cross the border this year. Axios reports that number “is on pace to exceed the all-time record by 45%.”
Biden’s reckless immigration policies endanger American lives. While our border with Canada is closed due to Covid, our porous Southern border is open and illegals are stampeding in. Bringing Covid-19 with them.
In Brownsville, Texas, many of the illegals recently detained by border patrols tested positive for Covid before fanning out around the nation.
More than 100 illegal immigrants released by the Border Patrol into Texas since late January have tested positive for the coronavirus following their arrival, officials in a city on the U.S.-Mexico border tell Fox News.
Felipe Romero, a spokesperson for Brownsville, said Wednesday that the 108 positives represent 6.3% of the number of total migrants who have been rapid-tested at the city’s main bus station, where they are being released by the Border Patrol.
Rapid testing of the individuals began there on Jan. 25.
He added that Brownsville does not have the authority to prevent those who test positive from traveling elsewhere in the U.S. -- and are advising them to quarantine, follow the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines and socially distance.
ADVISING them to quarantine. How sweet. Does anyone actually believe that people who flagrantly disregarded our immigration laws are likely to heed health recommendations?
Migrant families who tested positive and spoke to that news organization at the bus station said they were waiting to travel to places such as Maryland and New Jersey.
"On the way, we were wearing a mask all the time, gel, washing our hands," Eva Orellana, a 29-year-old from Honduras who came to the U.S. with her 3-year-old daughter, told Noticias Telemundo Investiga.
She added that she was going to take a bus to North Carolina and had purchased tickets.
"Really, I don't feel anything," she said.
Oh great.
On Wednesday Biden demonized the governors of Texas and Mississippi and those of us who believe Americans ought to be responsible for their own health without arbitrary, nanny-state mandates.
Biden called this “Neanderthal thinking.”
The only Neanderthal thinking in evidence right now is the president allowing illegals - especially those infected with Covid-19 - to pour into the country. During a pandemic. That moronic policy will likely yield even more deadly results.
