Southern Border Crawling With Covid
I know we’re supposed to be masking and hiding under our beds because the “experts” at the CDC suddenly have their hair on fire about the Delta variant and the waaayyy scarier Covids - you, know, the MID-TERM VARIANTS - that are coming our way.
But I’m not.
Not even America’s favorite attention whore, Anthony Fauci, who on Sunday was gleefully predicting that Covid-19 is “going to get worse” terrifies me.
Shoot, he’s wrong most of the time, anyway.
I think Fauci and company are exaggerating the danger to vaccinated Americans of this latest variant in a reckless attempt to either scare folks into getting the vaccine, or to pave the way for more draconian measures such as vaccine passports, lockdowns or more mandates.
I’ll believe the government is serious about Covid-19 the minute THIS ends:
In May 5,807 illegals were caught breeching the border every day. That’s the highest number since 2000. That record was broken one month later June when 6,294 illegal immigrants were apprehended daily.
Of course, no one knows just how many people crossed the border and weren’t caught.
More bad news: The Department of Homeland Security estimates that 15 to 25% of those crossing the border illegally are infected with Covid. That means on any day in June about 1,500 people sashayed into the U.S., bringing the Covid virus with them.
Lucky us.
I have a friend who’s in Germany right now. She’s American. She’s vaccinated, but to be permitted to return to the U.S. she has to show an approved American negative Covid test taken within a day or two of her flight back. A test she was advised to buy and bring with her on her trip. A foreign test may not suffice.
Meanwhile, the Biden administration is allowing thousands of illegals to pour over the border day and after day, without regard to diseases they may be carrying.
Last week, for instance, a family of illegal immigrants was approached by police after a customer complained that the group was coughing and sneezing at a Whataburger in La Joya, Texas. Turned out the family had been apprehended by border patrol agents but released because they were sick.
They were sick, all right. With Covid.
“The La Joya incident is an isolated case, in a new location we had just begun to use. This one incident has caused a great deal of misinformation and unfortunately serious consequences that threaten our community with catastrophic outcomes if we can’t continue to isolate and care for the families,” said Sister Norma Pimentel in a statement to CBS 11 News.”
An isolated incident? Nope. I don’t believe that for a minute.
It raises an important question: Why are Covid positive illegals being allowed to set foot inside the U.S.?
If my American friend can’t return from Europe without a negative test, surely those trying to sneak into the country should, at a minimum, have to be healthy.
Any attempt to get Americans to knuckle under to more Covid restrictions while thousands of sick people pour over the border should be ignored.
