Human Trafficking On The Border

Human Trafficking On The Border

Words are inadequate to describe what Texas authorities discovered Monday when temperatures hit 103 and they opened the rear of an abandoned tractor trailer to find 46 people dead and 16 others so sick and dehydrated that they couldn’t walk.

Ghastly.

The death toll in this horrific human trafficking case rose to 51 on Tuesday. Among the dead are 22 Mexicans, 7 Guatemalans and 2 Hondurans.

The blood of these poor, desperate people is on Joe Biden and his feckless border czar, Kamala Harris. They were the ones who halted construction of the border wall and invited illegals into the country with their insane campaign promises.

The epidemic of fentanyl deaths is on them too and so is the surge in human trafficking cartels. These nasty enterprises took off when the new administration came into office and it became clear that tackling the border crises was not on the new president’s to-do list.

Remember, these two opportunists campaigned on open border platforms. You can’t blame illegals for believing that they meant it. In the early days of the Biden administration members of the massive migrant caravans were photographed wearing “Biden” T-shirts as they headed north.

Here’s Biden during the campaign:

Could he be any clearer?

Despite the language barriers, that message was heard loud and clear south of the border. Since Biden’s inauguration, illegal crossings have soared. In 2021 more than two million illegals were apprehended and no one knows how many others got into the country undetected.

Biden’s policies have led to a sharp increase in fentanyl deaths. Most of the synthetic opioid is produced in China and brought into the U.S. through Mexico. A drug dealer in Fullerton, California was arrested last week with 24 kilos of the deadly drug. Enough to kill 12 million people, according to the DEA.

Back to the horror in San Antonio. On Monday evening, at about 6 pm. A worker heard cries from inside a tractor trailer parked near Lackland Air Force Base.

When help arrived, first responders found that the people packed into that airless truck had effectively cooked. The Daily News reports that the dead had been sprinkled with steak seasoning by the traffickers to mask the stench as survivors were left to suffocate with the corpses.

“These deaths are on Biden," Texas Gov. Greg Abbott tweeted on Monday night. "They are a result of his deadly open border policies. They show the deadly consequences of his refusal to enforce the law."

This carnage shocks the conscience. U.S. border policy now - or lack of it - encourages drug and human trafficking.

Biden - preoccupied with Ukraine’s border - seems curiously unconcerned about ours.

The president walked away from a press conference on Tuesday when a reporter asked about the dead immigrants.

Biden’s aides must have neglected to put the tragedy on his cue cards.

Americans have seen enough. Our southern border is a grotesque nightmare of abuse, extortion, drug smuggling and death. This can’t continue.
