Happy New Year
Happy New Year!
Just back from the Peach Bowl in Atlanta and that game put the perfect exclamation point on 2023!
It’s worth mentioning that every single Penn State fan I met at the game was happy to be there and having a great time. Until the end, of course. Even then they were gracious, congratulating Ole Miss fans on the win.
(Oh, I briefly met a man sitting in front of me from Creeds. He played center for the Nittany Lions 40 years ago. I didn’t catch his name but if anyone recognizes him tell him I said hello!)
I have to say that Penn State’s White Out might have looked good on TV, but all of those white sweatshirts were so, well, Big Ten.
In the SEC we color coordinate but we don’t wear matching clothes. Certainly not hoodies.
Get a load of the dude I rode the elevator with in the hotel just before the game:
Then there was this great-looking guy I spied sitting a few seats away from me before the stadium filled up. (More men should wear cowboy hats. I’m just saying…)
OK, this was me. I almost never wear jeans to a game, but it was about 30 degrees Saturday morning and we had a long, windy walk from our hotel to the Marta station and then to Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
I love college football and was happy to spend 20 hours in a car this weekend to see a New Years Six bowl game.
Today? I’m going to kick off the New Year at home watching the playoffs.
I’m only going to say this once: Roll Tide.
Here’s to 2024! Cheers!
