Covid Emergency Declarations Coming To An End. Finally.

Covid Emergency Declarations Coming To An End. Finally.

Make it stop. Please. The insipid, over-simplification reporting about covid.

Frankly, if I read one more headline declaring that Joe Biden is ending the covid emergency, I’m going to lose it.

It’s not true. It’s just more gaslighting.

Yes, the president says he’s canceling the declarations on May 11. But in order to do that, he must first EXTEND them.

Again. He’s extended the emergency declarations numerous times in two years. By my count, he’s stretched this abusive order out 16 times. Most recently, on January 11.

If Biden does nothing, the national covid state of emergency will expire March 1. The public health emergency is set to expire April 1. Biden, however, is continuing both states of emergencies until May 11th.

That’s laughable. Genuine states of emergency don’t end by a circle on a calendar. They end when the emergency ends.

For most Americans - sane ones, not hypochondriacs - the emergency ended by spring of 2021. At the latest. Some of us fought for normalcy one Day One. Our numbers grew as distrust in public health began to erode. Nice of you all to join us.

Yet the emergency declarations and all of the unconstitutional actions that accompanied them continued. Shoot, so many people are getting fat off them that there are now millions of people who never want the pandemic to end.

Those with student debt, for instance, who are enjoying a holiday from repaying their loans. Once the emergency ends, the pause - which is already on shaky legal grounds - will almost certainly end.

Oh no. Imagine being forced to repay money you borrowed. No fair!

Let’s not forget the pharmaceutical industry, which manufactured injectable fluids that neither stop transmission nor keep people from getting sick. Once the public caught on  and realized the vaccines had failed, the industry began peddling treatments for covid. And endless boosters.

What a racket for big pharma.

Best of all, the injectables - vaccines and boosters - and test kits are free.  Wheeee!

From CNN:

The public health emergency has enabled the government to provide many Americans with Covid-19 tests, treatments and vaccines at no charge, as well as offer enhanced social safety net benefits, to help the nation cope with the pandemic and minimize its impact.”

“People will have to start paying some money for things they didn’t have to pay for during the emergency,” said Jen Kates, senior vice president at the Kaiser Family Foundation. “That’s the main thing people will start to notice.”

Watch the covid cases plummet as soon as people have to pay for their own nostril swabs. Serial swabbers will give up. The pandemic will truly be over.

And there will be nothing to do but wait for the next one.
