Race-Baiting: On Display In Congress

In case you weren’t paying attention, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez went all crazy tent revival, phony outraged civil rights leader on the floor of the House yesterday after Republicans voted to yank anti-semitic Rep. Ilhan Omar off the House Foreign Affairs Committee.

An unhinged, cringey performance.

It’s AOC’s favorite trope when anything happens to a member of the squad:  She catterwauls that WOMEN OF COLOR are being picked on! They’re always victims.

She doesn’t defame just the GOP with such slander. She goes after anyone who criticizes her. Remember back in July of 2018 when she accused Nancy Pelosi of the same thing? I wrote about it at the time.

Here are six words I never thought I’d write: I feel sorry for Nancy Pelosi.

I do. 

She’s been accused of a vile thing - racism - and the Speaker of the House is learning that those odious words smart. 

As you may already know, the veiled accusation came from Washington’s newest star, leftist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who’s at war with old guard Democrats. 

She accused Pelosi of picking on her:

“When these comments first started, I kind of thought that she was keeping the progressive flank at more of an arm’s distance in order to protect more moderate members, which I understood,” Ocasio-Cortez told The Washington Post. “But the persistent singling out . . . it got to a point where it was just outright disrespectful . . . the explicit singling out of newly elected women of color.”

Yep, there it is. Pelosi is singling out women of color for criticism. The very definition of a racist.

Somebody tell AOC it’s not all about race. Sometimes people who do and say stupid, bigoted things get what’s coming to them.

And that’s what happened to Omar yesterday. 

Since she arrived in Washington, Omar has made it clear that she loathes our most loyal ally and the only democracy in the MidEast: Israel. Worse, she’s sympathetic to Islamic radicals all over the world.

Including those who attacked America on September 11. Remember her “some people did something” dismissal of the cold-blooded murder of almost 3,000 innocents in New York, Washington and Pennsylvania who died simply because they were in America?

That alone should have disqualified her from any sensitive committee assignment.

Want a few examples of her hatred of Israel?

How about her 2012 Tweet:

“Israel has hypnotized the world, may Allah awaken the people and help they see the evil doings of Israel. “

Or this tweet in 2018:

“Drawing attention to the apartheid Israeli regime is far from hating Jews.”

Or her snotty remark, implying that Jewish people were buying support for Israel:

“It’s all about the Benjamins, baby”

Nancy Pelosi condemned Omar’s remarks, but Pelosi allowed this hateful woman to remain on the foreign relations committee.

“We condemn these remarks and call upon Congresswoman Omar to immediately apologize” she said at the time.

Omar finally apologized for her bigoted bloviations, but just uttering them should have been enough to boot her from the Foreign Relations committee back then. The vote in the House yesterday was the GOP finally rectifying a wrong by the Dems. 

Yet AOC shrieks “racism”!

Sorry, lady. Last time I checked, Reps. Adam Schiff and Eric Swalwell - who were rightly removed from the House Intelligence Committee for their reckless behavior - were lily-white.

This isn’t racism or sexism at work. It’s not even political retribution. 

The GOP is trying to keep America safe. The Dems should give it a try some time.
