Biden Determined To Censor Free Speech
Last Friday a federal appeals court in New Orleans ruled that the Biden administration had violated the Constitution by pressuring social media companies to censor people who challenged the government’s official stance on covid, vaccines, masks, school closures and other pandemic-related matters.
It was a tremendous victory for defenders of free speech and for those of us who were critical of the exaggerated fear and misinformation peddled by Washington officials throughout the pandemic.
The Wall Street Journal summarized what happened this way:
The Fifth Circuit, based in New Orleans, found extensive evidence that the federal government had engaged in a yearslong campaign to pressure Facebook, YouTube, Twitter and other social-medial companies to scrub away content and ban users that officials claimed were spreading harmful and misleading information about vaccine safety, masking measures, election security and other divisive topics.
The appeals panel agreed with a lower-court judge who concluded that social-media companies changed their moderation policies at the behest of White House aides under looming threats of regulatory measures.
Furthermore, the court ordered the White House, Surgeon General, CDC and FBI to cut it out.
A presidential administration that respected the U.S. Constitution and free speech would have been embarrassed and immediately ceased from violating constitutional rights. Shoot, if they had any sense of decency, they’d apologize to the American people for trampling on their rights to question government orthodoxy.
That wouldn’t be Biden’s administration. This is a group without shame, headed by a pathological liar.

Yep, faced with two choices: to either stop violating the free speech rights of Americans or appeal the decision and ask the Supreme Court to allow them to continue to stomp on the Constitution, Biden’s gang did exactly what you’d expect: They filed an emergency appeal, begging the high court to let them continue to pressure social media companies to keep gagging malcontents.
This is how Covid truth-teller Alex Berenson and the brilliant satirists at The Babylon Bee got banned from Twitter. And it presumably was pressure from the Washington medical cartel that got Robert Kennedy Jr. booted from Instagram.
In an interview this week with podcaster Megyn Kelly, legal scholar Alan Dershowitz talked about a book he’s writing called “The New McCarthyism.” The former Harvard law professor says that during the Cold War era of Joseph McCarthy, it was the right that was trying to suppress free speech.
Now it’s the left.
“Don’t let them tell you this is liberalism,” Dershowitz huffed. “It’s the new McCarthysim.”
Derschowitz is right. And the sooner this lawless bunch is out of power, the better.
