An Illegal Is Not A “Newcomer”

Well, I belatedly watched the State of the Union Address. It was every bit as cringe-inducing as I expected.

Whatever meds Biden was pumped full of last Thursday night to prevent him from appearing comatose caused him to shout through most of this campaign speech. And that’s what it was, nothing but a slice of partisan hackery delivered in what Biden thought was a strong and vibrant voice, but in reality amounted to angry ranting by a very old man.

He did say one true thing, however. 

Responding to Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s heckling the president went off script and attempted to say something about Laken Riley, the Georgia nursing student who was brutally murdered by an illegal alien.

“Lincoln Riley, an innocent young woman who was killed by an illegal. That’s right.”

Whoops.

 Seems that without the teleprompter, Biden didn’t know the murder victim’s first name and he forgot that illegal aliens have been rebranded “newcomers” by his very woke comms team. In that moment of clarity, the geriatric president inadvertently told the truth about the Venezuelan illegal who’s been arrested and charged with murdering the 22-year-old student.

He’s what even the law defines as an illegal alien.

Normal people - who speak plainly and value life over political correctness - barely noticed the president’s choice of words. They were recoiling at the thought of a young female student, out for a run, who was beaten to death by a hairbag who had no right to be in the country.

But lefties don’t seem to care a great deal about dead nursing students. Instead, they were worried sick that the suspected killer’s feelings might have been hurt. 

Democrats huffed and puffed and gently scolded Biden, saying he should have called Jose Ibarra “undocumented” instead of illegal.

Within days, the president apologized for his faux pas.

According to NBC, the president began walking back his remarks on Sunday in an interview with MSNBC’s Jonathan Capehart.

“During your response to [Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s] heckling of you, you used the word ‘illegal’ when talking about the man who allegedly killed Laken Riley,” Capehart said.

“An undocumented person. And I shouldn’t have used ‘illegal.’ It’s ‘undocumented,’” Biden said.

“So you regret using that word?” Capehart pressed him.

“Yes,” Biden replied.

The statement marks an apparent reversal from what Biden said Friday. While at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland, the president was asked, “Do you regret using the word ‘illegal’ to describe immigrants last night, sir?”

“Well, I probably — I don’t - technically he’s not supposed to be here,” he responded.

Technically? Our immigration laws are a mere technicality to this president, which explains a lot about the giant welcome mat the president installed at the border with Mexico his first day in office.

This Orwellian outrage over language is reminiscent of the blowback from the left after Audrey Hale, a 28-year-old woman who pretended to be male, shot up a Nashville Christian school, leaving six people dead, including three little kids.

Was the left offended by the mass killing? Not nearly as much as they were at people like me who used Audrey’s real name and referred to her as a female. 

Even though Hale was shot to death by police before she could kill more innocents at the Covenant School, indignant lefties demanded that we respect the dead woman’s trans identity and use male pronouns for her.

That’s a hard no.

Killers who target innocent children and teachers don’t deserve any deference or respect.

Likewise, most of us don’t give a rat’s patootie if Jose Ibarra would prefer to be called undocumented to illegal. He’s a criminal who’s charged with murdering a young woman. I give this man no respect.

I think life in an American prison is too good for him if he’s convicted.

Frankly, I can think of far more derogatory and accurate descriptors for someone who sneaks into my beloved country and murders random women for fun.

And the halfwits worrying about language when an innocent girl is dead? They’re emblematic of everything that’s wrong with America right now.
