Dems Pounce On Out-Of-Context Trump Quote: BLOODBATH!
Gird your loins, oh ye with common sense.
It’s going to be an er, bloodbath, of verbiage for the next few weeks.
Let me back up.
If you’ve ever wondered why campaign speeches tend to be banal and forgettable it’s because every candidate knows that his or her opponent is breathlessly waiting for them to say something that can be taken out of context and weaponized.
Hence, most candidates employ imagination-impaired speechwriters and then stick to their bland scripts like ventriloquist dummies.
All except Donald Trump.
He might actually have speechwriters. If so, they must be the most frustrated operatives in the political world.
Trump’s strength - and weakness - is his willingness to go rogue and say things that are eagerly snatched by hysterical Democrats.
Remember their feeding frenzy over his line about being a dictator on day one? They’re still chewing on that old rag.
Here’s the entire context:
Trump’s supporters and those of us who would just like to see a little honesty in the media have spent the last two months arguing with those who know better about the full context of the quote.
It makes no difference. Trump Derangement Syndrome is so virulent that they can’t be reasoned with.
Now this.
During a Saturday speech in Dayton, Trump vowed to support the American auto industry by clamping down on imported electric vehicles and components.
Trump warned that the Biden administration is all in on EVs, despite the fact that Americans don’t want them, car manufacturers don’t want to make them and they use child slave labor in Africa to harvest the components. Oh, and they’re too expensive, even with all of the government incentives.
Here’s the full context of what he said, referring specifically to China building car factories in Mexico.
“We’re going to put a 100% tariff on every single car that comes across the line, and you’re not going to be able to sell those cars if I get elected,” Trump said. "Now, if I don’t get elected, it’s going to be a bloodbath for the whole — that’s gonna be the least of it. It’s going to be a bloodbath for the country. That will be the least of it. But they’re not going to sell those cars. They’re building massive factories."
The left heard just one word: BLOODBATH.
Ooooh. Hair on fire time! Sound the alarm! He’s threatening violence!
DISQUALIFYING!
In other words, if they can’t keep Trump off the ballots by using unconstitutional means - and they can’t - if their attempts at lawfare fail - and they are - they’ve got nothing left but trying to spread hysteria over out-of-context quotes.
Elon Musk, the African-American who saved free speech in this country, tried to rebut it.
Hey, from the left’s perspective, this dishonest tactic worked by inflaming the public over January 6th when the House of Representatives, led by the odious and now defeated Elaine Luria of Virginia, repeated over and over again that Trump ordered the disgruntled crowd had to “fight like hell” over what they saw as election shenanigans.
They conveniently and consistently left out the part where Trump urged the crowd to “peacefully and patriotically march to the Capitol.”
How many times will the Dems go back to the out-of-context playbook?
As many times as they can as long as Trump keeps delivering fiery off-the-cuff speeches and Biden keeps mumbling and falling down.
It’s going to be a long campaign season.
