Ukraine In NATO? That’s A Hard No.
Is Biden TRYING to jump start World War III?
If so, he’s doing an excellent job.
This feckless president, who - in three years - managed to queer relations with Israel and got 13 troops killed during his reckless 2021 withdrawal from Afghanistan, is now trying to provoke the paranoid Vladimir Putin into ramping up his attacks on Ukraine while bringing America ever closer to war with Russia.
It was’t enough that in December of 2021 Biden teased NATO membership for Ukraine, telling Volodymyr Zalensky that joining NATO was “in Ukraine’s hands”.
Whatever that gibberish meant. Russia took it to mean that Ukraine was joining NATO and called such talk “destabilizing.” Two months later Putin attacked Ukraine.
Now, with the war in its third year and no end in sight, Biden sent Secretary of State Antony Blinken to a NATO meeting in Brussels where he made this stunningly irresponsible announcement:
"Ukraine will become a member of NATO. Our purpose at the summit is to help build a bridge to that membership," Blinken told reporters in Brussels.
Standing beside Blinken was Ukraine Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba. He chimed in:
"Of course, we believe that Ukraine deserves to be a member of NATO and that this should happen sooner rather than later," he said.
This is beyond moronic and provocative. It ought to be impeachable.
America should not be flirting with NATO membership for Ukraine while a war is raging there. In fact, that option should be off the table permanently. The U.S. does not need to be in a treaty alliance with a country with perpetually disputed borders.
Frankly, Ukraine doesn’t qualify for membership. NATO rules require aspiring members to settle international disputes by peaceful means before joining. That isn’t happening.
Nevertheless, Congress must act quickly to block the Biden administration from this colossal blunder. And lawmakers must tell Biden and Blinken to shut up about Ukraine and NATO.
Ohio Sen. J.D. Vance made the first move on Thursday.
Vance is exactly right. He’s a rookie, though, and needs more senior senators to join him in reining in the bumbling fool in the White House.
The world is a dangerous place. On Thursday Biden deliberately drew the world closer to a nuclear war.
This is disqualifying. He simply cannot be re-elected.
