Here are four words I never thought I’d write: Thank you George Stephanopoulos.

During his 22-minute pre-taped interview with Joe Biden that first aired Friday night, ABC’s resident leprechaun said the quiet part out loud: This appearance had nothing to do with allowing the president to demonstrate to America that he’s sharp and competent.

Sephanoloulos was on a mission by the Democrat Party to get the president to drop out of the presidential race. And not because Biden is clearly suffering from cognitive problems, but because polls show him losing to Donald Trump.

This is all political.

Does anyone actually believe that the wheels would be coming off the Democrat Party right now if Biden were leading the polls?

The former Clinton aide repeatedly peppered Biden with questions about the polls during the interview and the president blew him off at least once saying, “That’s not what our polls show.”

“Do you really believe that you’re not behind right now?” he pressed.

“Just when you look at the reality though, Mr. President,” Stephanoloulos implored again.

“It’s been a two-man race for several months. Inflation has come down. In those last few months, (Trump has) become a convicted felon. Yet, you’re still falling further behind,” he said.

“Mr. President, I’ve never seen a president (at) 36% approval get reelected,” Stephanopoulos said sadly.

Politicians and members of the press saw what the rest of us saw about Biden’s decline but didn’t care. They shared the same goal: To keep Biden in the presidency.

Lefties were perfectly happy to have a dementia patient in the White House with staff wokesters running the country when they thought that lawfare would destroy Trump’s chances of victory.

That plan backfired and Trump began climbing in the polls. Then when Biden imploded during the debate, Democrat brass and their bootlickers in the press began to panic.

All the phony posturing by Dems about how much worse Biden has gotten in the past couple of months is laughable. This president hasn’t been with us in years.

Anyone remember this exchange between Nikki Haley and Stephanopoulos last August, when she was running for the GOP nomination? Haley’s mantra was that a vote for Biden in 2024 was a vote for President Kamala Harris. Given Biden’s deteriorating condition Haley insisted that there was no way he could serve out a second term.

Stephanopoulos pretended to be befuddled by that assertion:

On Friday night Haley destroyed ABC’s leftist tool by Tweeting out these four words:

“Believe me now, George?”

Look, Democrats rigged the primaries to make sure Biden cruised to the nomination. He now has 3,896 delegates committed to him. If Dem power brokers force him out of the race they nullify the primaries and give a big middle finger to the voters who came out in the dead of winter to support Joe Biden.

Friday’s Forbes/Harris X poll showed Trump leading Biden nationally 52% to 48%. Thursday’s New York Times/ Sienna Poll had Trump over Biden 49% to 43%.

If those numbers were reversed - if it were Biden leading Trump nationally and in every swing state - is there any chance that Sen. Mark Warner would be trying to organize a palace coup? Would The New York Times be calling for Biden to drop out? Would George Stephanopoulos be goading the president to quit?

Not a chance.
