Headline: Your Daily Illegal
Chances are until this week you’d never heard of Melody Waldecker. She’s the 54-year-old mother of four and grandmother of eight who was run over and killed Sunday morning in Sterling, Va. by a carjacker.
His name? Jose Aguilar-Martinez, 21. He’s from El Salvador. In the country illegally.
Thanks to failed border czar Kamala Harris.
Ms. Waldecker is from Silver Spring, Md, but she was in Virginia this weekend, visiting her ailing mother. On Sunday morning she dashed into a 7-Eleven when she saw someone getting into her Kia Sorento.
She ran to the car and attempted to stop the car thief. He gunned the engine and ran her over.
This suspected killer took off, was involved in two other minor accidents before being arrested.
The illegal alien, who was in possession of a California driver’s license, was immediately charged with felony carjacking. Loudoun County Sheriff Mike Chapman told ABC news that the suspect will likely be charged with homicide.
“Melody was here visiting her mom,” Sheriff Mike Chapman told 7News. “She was in the Loudoun rehab nursing home here doing all the right things when your parents are aging. [She] came out to help her out and the next thing you know she comes out of the 7-Eleven and that’s the end of her life. Tragic. Should’ve never happened.”
“Running her right over, complete disregard for her life, complete disregard for anybody in the area. [He] took off, ends up getting into two car accidents while he’s fleeing away,” said Chapman. “He is here illegally. And that’s why this could have been prevented. Had he not been in this country illegally, this would have never happened and that’s the problem.”
“This could have been anybody's mother or wife or grandmother?” 7News Reporter Nick Minock asked.
“Yea, or child,” Chapman answered. “Here she is going to visit her elderly mom and then she gets on the killed.”
Tell us again about how all the illegal aliens are law-abiding folks - less likely to commit crimes than American citizens - just here yearning for a better life.
Tell that to the Waldecker family. On second thought, better not. They’re planning a funeral right now.
