Flipping The Script: Dems Want War And Gas Guzzlers

Flipping The Script: Dems Want War And Gas Guzzlers

Well folks, the script has definitely flipped.

That’s the only way to describe the American landscape as we enter Donald Trump’s second term.

Not only is the left suddenly pro-war - indistinguishable from the old Republican neocons - but rage-filled members of the Democrat party who tried to mandate electric vehicles, are now shamelessly buying gas guzzlers.

That’s how much they hate Trump and the man he put in charge of finding waste and fraud in government spending: Elon Musk.

It won’t be long before Andrew Klavan’s prediction comes true. Dems will take to the streets to chant What do we want? FRAUD! When do we want it? NOW!

Almost overnight Musk went from being the darling of the Dems -  the naturalized whiz kid who made electric cars stylish and fast - to the most loathed person by the left.

The mere mention of his name causes lefties to lose their minds and has unleashed a wave of violence, both big and small, across the nation.

For instance, a listener from Suffolk emailed the “Kerry and Mike Show” yesterday morning with the image of a nasty, vulgar note left on the windshield of a car parked in a Publix parking lot. The car may or may not have been a Tesla, but it did have “ELON” on the license plate.

You’re a fucking pig!!! #FUCK ELON” read the scribbled message.

The owner of that car is a proud alum of Elon University in North Carolina. The plate has nothing to do with Musk.

Control yourselves, haters.

Former astronaut and U.S. Senator Mark Kelly last week announced that he was trading in his Tesla for a Chevy Tahoe. The Tahoe gets “up to” 15 mpg around town.

“Got one of these in Tuscon as well,” Kelly boasted, proudly standing by his new gas guzzler. “This one was made by union labor, United Auto Workers in Arlington, Texas. Always good to buy union cars, incredibly reliable. And I’m looking forward to driving this for many, many years.”

That announcement came two days after Kelly said he would look for a new ride since his Tesla was “built and designed by an a–hole.”

Well, that a-hole just sent a rocket into space and did what Boeing and NASA were unable to do: rescue two stranded astronauts on the International Space Station.

Screw the climate, says Kelly. Virtue signaling against Musk is more important.

Look, Kelly has the right to drive anything he likes. And frankly, it would be great if states abandoned their despotic laws mandating EVs in the next few years so that everyone in the country has the same opportunity.

But the “Tesla Takedowns” that are happening across the country are driven by nothing more than rabid hate. The vandalism, the arson, the fire-bombings, the shooting up of showrooms, are alarming and escalating. These acts of terrorism are frightening people who planned to buy Teslas and they’re causing long-time owners to be subjected to violence and abuse.

There are reports that a website with a Molotov cocktail logo has published the names and addresses of Tesla owners around the country.

Earlier this week, a liberal blogger I occasionally follow out of Detroit, expressed pleasure at some of the street-level Tesla hate.

“A friend was drinking on a bar patio last night — we’re deep in Fool’s Spring this week — and a Cybertruck pulled up to the stop sign at the corner. Everyone on the patio began yelling abuse at the driver. This is good news,” wrote Nancy Nall Derringer, a former newspaper writer who is in her late 60s.

Good news. Really?

A driver stops at a corner and people yell abuse at him or her because they loathe the man who owns the company that produced the car?

This is irrational and deranged. But this well-educated, talented leftie approves.

That’s alarming.

Domestic terrorism is the best way to describe the unhinged hysteria on the left. Those caught actually vandalizing Teslas, attacking owners or tossing molotov cocktails at charging stations need to face severe federal charges.

The destruction appears to be coordinated and financed, which could cause Attorney General Pam Bondi to investigate whether the RICO statute might be useful in prosecuting bad actors.

Celebrating the “takedown” of one of America’s most valuable companies is a fool’s errand, considering that stock in that company is owned by nearly everyone who has an IRA or 401k.

Perhaps the dumbest take on the Tesla company came from one of America’s creepiest politicians, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz.

Apparently this mid-wit was unaware that Minnesota’s State Board of Investments holds 1.6 million shares of Tesla stock in its retirement fund. Most state pension plans own sizable chunks of Tesla stock.

America dodged a bullet when they sent this loon back to Minnesota.

No one - especially not a sitting governor -  should be cheering for the demise of an innovative company that employs about 127,000 people. I’m guessing Walz was secretly hoping that Musk’s Space X would explode upon re-entry this week, killing all aboard.

Imagine the scorn that would have rained down on Musk if that mission had ended in tragedy.

The embittered left is fueled by nothing more than unbridled rage.

I am SO tempted to trade in my car for a Tesla.
