With Crockett In The Spotlight, GOP Has No Worries

With Crockett In The Spotlight, GOP Has No Worries

I know, I know.

I’m supposed to be full of rage - like the Democrats - over Trump officials discussing the pros and cons of attacking the Houthis over the encrypted chat app “Signal” while a journalist was somehow included in the debate.

Was it a boneheaded mistake? Yep. Should we demand answers about how in the world Jeffrey Goldberg, the odious editor of The Atlantic who loathes Donald Trump, was plugged in? Absolutely. Should the administration ensure that it never happens again and that Signal be replaced as the go-to app reportedly widely used at the Pentagon by both the Biden and Trump administrations?

That must happen and this cannot happen again.

Shoot, CIA Director John Radcliffe testified yesterday that Signal was preloaded onto devices at the agency and approved for governmental use.

That didn’t stop Democrats from feigning outrage Tuesday and demanding that Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Director of Nationa Intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard, be sacked.

On the other hand, the attack on the Houthis was flawless and the discussion among Trump officials was measured and thoughtful. In fact, it was a revealing peek into their deliberative practices.

Was the discussion classified? Trump officials insist it wasn’t. Journalist Jeffrey Goldberg, who eavesdropped on the entire thread, says it was. Either way, even vague plans to attack our enemies ought to be closely guarded secrets. Fortunately, it was just a dirtball reporter listening in this time, not a terrorist.

The real question is, how did Goldberg get in? A simple mistake, or something more sinister?

What precautions will be taken to guarantee there is never a repeat?

If some of us refuse to get our hair on fire over the leak, perhaps it’s because Democrats and the DOJ shrugged over Hillary Clinton’s misuse of a personal server to share a multitude of classified information or Joe Biden’s squirreling away of decades worth of stolen classified documents in his garage, which was freely accessible to his crackhead son.

Hey, we don’t make the rules.

You want to know the real reason some of us don’t think this “scandal” will have legs?

Because this is the face of the opposition: Rep. Jasmine Crockett.

That’s right, this trash-talking congresswoman from Texas has elbowed mid-wit Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez out of the way to become the de facto leader of the Democrat Party.

On Tuesday she mocked Gov. Greg Abbott who’s been paralyzed since he was 26 and uses a wheelchair.

Next, she lied about it.

Relax, Republicans. Fix the problem with Signal and move on. Keep the spotlight on Crockett.

Sorry, Dems, Hegseth and Gabbard aren’t going anywhere. But nice try.
