Manchin Didn't Kill Build Back Better By Himself
Are all lefties devoid of critical thinking skills? Do any of them know how a constitutional republic works? Do they get a set of talking points from someone with the IQ of say, Jen Psaki, every morning and take it from there?
I only ask because social media was exploding Sunday with variations on this ridiculous theme:
Sherrilyn Ifill is the President and Director-Counsel of LDF, the NAACP’s Legal Defense and Educational fund. She’s a lawyer and a well-educated one at that: Vassar undergrad, New York University Law School.
Yet, like many members of the radical left she was outraged yesterday to learn that Sen. Joe Manchin decided to help save America from economic ruin by joining 50 Republican senators who oppose Joe Biden’s grotesque Build Back Better bill.
ONE MAN, they chorused.
Um, there's a word for that. It’s called majority rule and it’s a fairly simply concept. Surprised someone of Ms. Ifill’s stature is unfamiliar with it. And one can only speculate on what sort of “structural change” she supports to thwart majority rule.
Like many who oppose out-of-control spending and social programs that expand government into even more aspects of American life, I was heartened that Manchin joined the common sense crowd.
But in no way is ONE MAN stopping Joe Biden’s (really The Squad’s) dreams of driving up the debt, hiking taxes on all of us and turning the U.S. into a European-style socialist country.
Manchin simply reached across the aisle to form a majority in opposition.
Remember how happy the left was when the late Sen. John McCain abandoned HIS party to help keep Obamacare in place?
It’s like that. Only in reverse.
