Joe Biden: Our Weak President..
We live in a dangerous world. And it’s become exponentially more dangerous due to our weak, confused and feckless president.
Joe Biden’s bungled surrender in Afghanistan last August emboldened our enemies. That’s clear to see.
But even our friends don’t respect the doddering old man in the White House.
Take Poland, for instance. Polish leaders didn’t bother informing the U.S. that they were supplying MiGs to Ukraine through the American airbase at Ramstein. This is a major provocation to the Russians.
WASHINGTON, March 8 (Reuters) - Poland's decision to put all its MiG-29 fighter jets at the disposal of the United States was "a surprise move" by Warsaw, the U.S. State Department's No. 3 diplomat said on Tuesday, after Ukraine asked European countries to provide aircraft to help it fight Russia's invasion.
"To my knowledge, it wasn't pre-consulted with us that they planned to give these planes to us," State Department Undersecretary of State for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland told a Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing. "So I think that actually was a surprise move by the Poles," she said.
Poland is ready to deploy all its MiG-29 jets to Ramstein Air Base in Germany and put them at the disposal of the United States, and urges other NATO members that own planes of that type to do the same, the Polish Foreign Ministry said earlier.
Surprises are not good during war. Especially from your allies.
Can we at least stop the fiction that Biden is somehow “leading” the Western coalition against Russia? He’s nothing but an aging afterthought.
Not only wasn't Biden consulted about the implications of such a move by the Poles. He wasn’t even informed if it.
Poland’s actions signaled a profound lack of respect for the American president.
Then, after a bipartisan chorus of Congressmen demanded that America stop buying Russian oil, Biden finally announced a U.S. boycott.
Biden’s next step?
Canoodling with oil-rich Venezuela’s ruthless dictator Nicolas Maduro and the potentates of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates to buy their crude.
Just one problem.
Looks like Saudi and UAE leaders blew off Biden.
In a paywalled story headlined, “Saudi’s Emirati Leaders Decline Calls With Biden During Ukraine Crisis,” The Wall Street Journal reported this embarrassing development:
The White House unsuccessfully tried to arrange calls between President Biden and the de facto leaders of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates as the U.S. was working to build international support for Ukraine and contain a surge in oil prices, said Middle East and U.S. officials.
Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and the U.A.E.’s Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed al Nahyan both declined U.S. requests to speak to Mr. Biden in recent weeks, the officials said.
A competent leader, one who thinks ahead, might have held discussions with Saudis and Emirates BEFORE cutting off 8% of America’s supply of oil.
No one’s ever accused Biden of being thoughtful, though.
In the meantime, folks at home are fuming as gas prices soar and Biden is blaming it all on Vladimir Putin, hoping that Americans will forget that gas prices have been on the rise for more than a year.
Last year he blamed Covid for the sharp rise In gas prices. Sigh.
Yesterday, Biden shrugged and meekly said that gas prices weren’t his fault.
President Biden on Tuesday said that he “can’t do much” about gas prices that are surging past all-time highs after he signed an executive order to ban Russian oil imports.
“Do you have a message for the American people on gas prices?” a reporter asked Biden as he arrived in Fort Worth, Texas, for an event about veterans health.
“They’re going to go up,” Biden said.
A reporter followed up, “What can you do about it?”
“Can’t do much right now… Russia is responsible,” said the president, despite Republicans urging him to allow more domestic drilling and pipeline projects.
While folks feel the pinch at the pump today, we’ll be feeling it everywhere as the prices of goods surge in the coming weeks.
In a month we’ll be looking back at 7.5% inflation with nostalgia.
The sensible move for Biden would be to declare that his war on fossil fuels is over and to announce that America is open for gas and oil exploration and drilling. The president should remove the impediments he slapped on drilling on public land and finish the Keystone pipeline, as a signal that America is once again pursuing the path of energy independence.
Of course, the Biden Administration won’t do that. It’s in the thrall of the Squad and squishy Green New Deal disciples.
Biden - who never admits he was wrong - is sticking with sunbeams and windmills while the world thirsts for oil.
He’s a weakling. And Americans are paying the price for Biden’s inability to stand up to the climate change fanatics who run the White House.
