Leave That 10-Year Old Rape Victim Alone

Leave That 10-Year Old Rape Victim Alone

Let’s stop this. Please. We’re better than this.

Let’s stop exploiting horrors like the rape of a 10-year-old to advance craven political agendas.

It’s ghoulish, it’s sick and it cheapens our national discourse.

What happened in Ohio recently is tragic. A little girl, probably 9 at the time, was raped by a pervert, a child molester. She was violated more than once. As a result, she became pregnant and was taken to Indiana where she reportedly had a non-surgical abortion when she was six weeks pregnant.

It remains unclear why she was taken out of state for the procedure. Ohio’s six-week abortion restriction has exceptions that should have allowed this pregnancy to be terminated. Whatever the reason, a doctor leaked the story of this child, no doubt hoping it would demonize the U.S. Supreme Court and mobilize pro-abortion forces without any regard for the victim.

So this poor child became the latest weapon in the quiver of abortion enthusiasts,

See, they cried. This is what happens when you restrict access to abortions.

The doctor who spread this story should be hauled in front of a medical ethics panel and disciplined. No physician should ever exploit a patient like this. Especially a kid.

Naturally, the president immediately used the terrible story - which, at that point, had only one source and could not be confirmed - in a political speech. He used her tragedy to condemn the Court and to push for national legislation legalizing all abortions, everywhere in the U.S.

Her misfortune was a gift to Joe Biden.

This story always seemed incomplete. Those of us with critical thinking skills waited for more facts  before weighing in. But not the fool living at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue who simply reads what’s on the teleprompter.

Within days we learned that the accused rapist is not a minor, as a doctor reported him to be to authorities, but a 27-year old illegal immigrant who belongs in Guatemala.

That’s not the worst part.

When a reporter for a Spanish language news network went to the Columbus home of the girl, a woman who claimed to be the child’s mother began defending the rapist, while insisting her daughter was just fine.

Immediately, a much clearer picture of the crime came into view.

Chances are, this child, like so many other victims of sex abuse was not raped by a stranger, but a “friend” of her mother’s, an unrelated man living in the home. That might explain why the rape victim wasn’t rushed to the hospital and treated immediately after the attack.

That may also explain why the doctor leaked only half of the story.

According to the New York Post:

The mom spoke to Telemundo while hiding behind the door of the Columbus apartment that was also listed as the home of rapist Gerson Fuentes, an illegal immigrant from Guatemala.

“She’s my daughter,” the mom, who refused to give a name, confirmed to Telemundo of the girl who would have been just 9 when she was abused and impregnated.

“She’s fine. Everything that they’re saying against him is a lie,” she insisted of Fuentes, who confessed during police interviews to raping the youngster at least twice, according to court records and officials.

The defensive mom, who hid her face when speaking to Telemundo in Spanish, insisted that she had not been the one to file charges against her young daughter’s abuser.

This 10-year-old girl is almost certainly NOT fine. How could she be? Her innocence was ripped away by a child molester. She’s no doubt traumatized by the attacks and now her own mother is defending the animal who hurt her.

Incomprehensible.

It’s worth remembering that at the center of all this is a suffering little kid.

Those who use her horrific situation to push a political  agenda abuse her all over again.

Stop it.
