The Unwanted Biden Grandchild
It’s right there near the top of my father’s birth certificate. A question that was important in 1923: “Legitimate?”
The answer for Thomas Dougherty, the son of a school janitor and housewife: “Yes.”
Those three letters meant that it didn’t matter that he was born poor in Bordentown, N.J., it didn’t matter that his family would lose their house six years later in the Great Depression and that the family walked shamefaced through town with their possessions in pillow cases on the way to the ramshackle shanty they rented, an experience my father recalled with horror all his life.
At least the three Dougherty siblings were born in a marriage and didn’t carry the stigma of illegitimacy.
So there was that.
That same question was on my birth certificate, with the same “Yes” indicating that my parents also were married at the time of my birth. But by the time my father’s first grandchild was born - in 1988 - that question had disappeared.
Thank God.
Also gone, the ugly label “illegitimate.”
For centuries that awful word resulted in innocent children being shunned and cast out of polite society as punishment for the sins of their parents.
No more. Today we’ve come to accept children no matter the circumstance of their birth.
Except in the case of the Biden family. They cling to the old ways.
Navy Joan
The president and his wife have never publicly acknowledged the existence of their granddaughter who lives in Arkansas with her mother. Their granddaughter’s mother says Joe and Dr. Jill have never even met their 4-year-old granddaughter. Or tried to.
Her father, the morally repugnant Hunter Biden (the “smartest man” Joe Biden knows), refused to acknowledge paternity of the infant until a DNA test in 2019, when the child was one, proved he’d impregnated the Arkansas woman.
Like so many deadbeats, Hunter only begrudgingly pays court-ordered child support. He even tried to argue that he was penniless at one point to have his payments reduced.
Now the loser son of the President of the United States wants to keep this innocent child from claiming the Biden name. We can assume he has the backing of his awful parents.
Hunter Biden asked for a judge to deny his estranged four-year-old daughter born to a stripper from taking his surname, claiming that doing so would rob the child of a 'peaceful existence.'
The request was made by the president's son on January 6, just a couple of weeks after the child's mother Lunden Roberts filed a name change petition for their daughter, Navy Joan Roberts.
Roberts, 31, who is raising Navy in Arkansas, filed the petition last month amid an ongoing paternity suit over child support payments that were adjusted because Biden's 'financial circumstances' had undergone a 'substantial, material change.'
While Biden is claiming that the name change would be harmful to the child, Roberts said it would benefit their daughter because it is 'now synonymous with being well educated, successful, financially acute and politically powerful.'
The Biden family, including Hunter, reportedly never met Navy, who was born in August 2018 to Roberts, a stripper at a club that Hunter used to frequent.

This is a laughable legal argument. Her father has demonstrated a remarkable lack of concern for her welfare until now. What he doesn’t want to do is confer any degree of legitimacy on her.
By now the world knows what a greaseball Hunter is, but the behavior of her grandparents toward this child is unforgivable.
I keep waiting for a bold member of the press corps to stop giving the president a tongue bath long enough to ask two questions:
“Mr. President, how many grandchildren do you have?”
“Have you met all of them?”
Jill and Joe trot out their grandchildren, er legitimate grandkids, at every opportunity. Shoot, their one granddaughter and her boyfriend, now husband, were co-habiting at the White House before they were married.
Yet a winsome little blonde girl in Arkansas has never been invited to the White House Easter Egg Roll, or Christmas and Thanksgiving celebrations with the other grands.
At a White House Christmas celebration Dr. Jill once showed off the 7 stockings hanging for their 7 grandchildren. Even the pets had stockings. Noticeably absent was a stocking with Navy Joan’s - their 8th grandkid’s - name on it.
How cruel.
You see, the Bidens are doing what vile people have done through history: Punishing children for the sins of their fathers.
Unpopular opinion: Like all politicians, Biden is dishonest, manipulative, and corrupt. The trait that speaks most to his lack of character and decency, though, is his refusal to acknowledge a granddaughter because of the circumstances of her birth. That's beyond contemptible.
