Michigan Kook Sterilizes Herself To Protest Trump
I will never understand leftists. Not leftists like Laurie Pohutsky, anyway.
No doubt you’d never heard of her. Until this week.

This 36-year-old attention-starved member of the Michigan State legislature has been in the news since she announced that two weeks ago she had herself sterilized because she was worried that she wouldn't be able to get contraception or abort any future babies during the Trump administration.
Think about it, but don’t expect it to make any sense.
The exact date of her self-harm seems to be January 23. On the next day she apologized on Facebook for missing votes in the state legislature because of her surgery.
Here, read what she had to say about her very “brave” act:
"Just under two weeks ago, I underwent surgery to ensure that I would never have to navigate a pregnancy in Donald Trump's America," Rep. Laurie Pohutsky told anti-Trump protesters gathered Wednesday outside the Michigan Capitol, according to a piece published by the Michigan Advance. "I refuse to let my body be treated as currency by an administration that only sees value in my ability to procreate."
"If you know people who are questioning how serious this is, I'm going to repeat myself: A sitting government official opted for voluntary sterilization because she was uncertain she would be able to access contraception in the future.”
Pohutsky describes herself as bisexual and has been a champion of LGBTQ and abortion rights in Michigan.
When some Michiganders reacted with revulsion to her ghastly grandstanding, she reacted with predictable vitriol.
“The fact that so many conservative men take personal offense to a decision that I made with my husband about my health care and future just proves the point that we shouldn’t assume that right is secure,” she posted on social media.
Sorry, Sweetie. When you go public with your personal insanity, we ALL get to comment on it.
In 2022, Michigan became one of the most pro-abortion states in the country when it enshrined a right to unlimited abortion in the state constitution.
President Donald Trump has said repeatedly that he believes the matter of abortion should be left to the states and vowed not to limit access to contraception.
So why did a young, presumably healthy woman and an unabashed Democrat abortion enthusiast undergo elective surgery to remove the option of ever having a child?
This is a case of extreme Trump Derangement Syndrome. Terminal, when you think about it. She’s a leftie, a kook. No doubt she’ll be running for president in four years. Her useless ovaries will be her ticket to celebrity in Democratic circles.
In a sick attempt to focus a spotlight on herself and gain notoriety, Pohutsky protested the president by depriving herself of motherhood.
On balance, it was probably a smart decision.
