Once the woke crowd cheered the vandalism of statues of historical figures they didn’t like they opened the door for other folks to believe that vandalism is an acceptable form of protest.
Three years ago, the Richmond Times-Dispatch published an article headlined thusly: “Baltimore paid less than $20,000 to remove four Confederate monuments last month. So what does that mean for Richmond?”
The General Assembly passed legislation this year that allows localities to remove offensive monuments. Legally and safely. No need for mobs to deface and behead them.
Instead of tearing down their statues and erasing their names from public buildings, we should work together as Americans to finish what these great men began.
